SOLD Velvet corset bodice, 18th century style, theatre costume, silk laces, Size Small
This beautiful silk velvet bodice was made in the early 20th century as a theatre costume. It is in the 18th century style and is made using couture techniques.
The fabric is in fabulous glossy condition, the silk laces are in good useable order and the finish has been expertly sewn - just look at those eyelets! The back has a modesty panel which fills the gap below the laces. The edges all have a decorative satin binding and the ribbons on both the front and back are the ones that came with the corset.
This item is not boned. It has a flatering cut which makes a V shape at the hemline and the peplum is crenelated.
This beautiful item is very wearable today and could easily be mixed with modern clothing.
Condition - Amazing! There is little evidence that this item has been worn, just a little rubbing of the fabric on the inside which is fully lined. The silk is glossy black and there are no stains, holes or tears.
