Edwardian tulle dress with soutache embroidery
The dress seen on the right of the image dates to the transition period between the demure 1910s and the racier 1920s. The silhouette is less fitted than 1910s dresses, but there are still design elements for modesty such as the internal bodice with waist stay.
This pretty cream dress is decorated on the bodice and around the hemline with soutache embroidery. It has elbow length sleeves and a dropped waistline.
The condition is generally very good but there are the following imperfections to note;
Some small darned repairs on the front of the dress. One on the bodice and two others in the skirt. There are also small breaks in the tulle in several places. As the dress falls in folds, these are not noticeable in wear. There is a little discolouration which could be rectified by an Oxy soak. I prefer to leave this to the buyer as it will lighten the colour of the entire dress.
