1910s Edwardian embroidered tulle dress
This romantic dress is made of strong cotton tulle. There is an inner foundation layer, over which the embroidered tulle lace, embellished with a beaded peplum and pretty trailing sleeves, sits.
The colour is sometimes described as Candlelight. It is a gold toned cream.
The design is body skimming and unlike later fashions, there is some definition at the waist on this dress.
Some TLC is required. The garment has been cleaned but would benefit from the decorative beads being removed and then the garment gently soaked. Once the dress is clean, the beads can be reapplied around the crenelated peplum and to the edges of the sleeves.
There are a few small imperfections in the tulle but no major holes or tears. As the skirt falls in folds, nothing is noticeable in wear.
