Original watercolour 1817-1830
I love this charming original watercolour which is attributed to the artist Lanté who did many illustrations of fashions for the series 'Le Bon Genre,' which depicted French fashions and ridiculed English fashions of the early 19th century.
The original mount, which is brown paper with a printed double border has printed on it,'Le Bon Genre Aquarelle non publie.' Or unpublished watercolour.Ouvrières de Paris attribuée a Lanté Paris workers, attributed to LantéIt is a little grubby, having not been protected under glass and being approximately 200 years old. There is also sketching on the back of the paper.
The artwork measures 8 5/8" x 11 1/8" without the mount and 11 3/4" x 14 1/2" with the mount.
This is one of a kind and would be a wonderful gift for a lover of historical fashion. This item ships from France. The price quoted includes shipping world-wide.Thanks for looking!
